The Flip Flopper in Chief’s Flip Flop of the Day:
"What’s My Justification for War in Iraq???"
1. Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction. "If we know Saddam Hussein has dangerous weapons today -- and we do -- does it make any sense for the world to wait to confront him as he grows stronger and develops even more dangerous weapons?" - George W. Bush, 10/2/02

But then it turned out Iraq didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction, so how about:
2. The war in Iraq will bring stability and democracy to the Middle East. "Iraq as a dictatorship had great power to destabilize the Middle East; Iraq as a democracy will have great power to inspire the Middle East." - George W. Bush, 9/23/2003

But then Bush’s failure to plan led to Iraq degenerating into chaos, so let’s go with:
3. Saddam might at some point have decided to give weapons of mass destruction (which he didn’t have) to terrorists (to whom he didn’t have close ties). "We could not take the risk of Saddam Hussein passing information and weapons to a terrorist network. That’s a risk the United States could not afford to take." - George W. Bush, 10/06/04

Now that’s some impressive flip flopping.
